Did they change it again so the quest gives out the Grim Cesta that has -50HP? Thank you.

while building my 55 monk, i got lucky and a Sup Vigor dropped for me while capping Spell Breaker with henchies, so that's where my $ for runes came from.

He means to just buy another Sup/Maj rune to get the -50/-75 HP penalty. Any other rune. Also, you cannot use another classes runes - that's why they're MONK Superior Rune of Protection Prayers.

Also, i fully understand what you're saying Rhoubhe about swapping out armor, but i personally use my head-slot for that. I have a Healing, Divine, Prot, and Smite head tatoo with the corresponding superior rune on it, with Vigor on chest, then Prot/Heal/Divine on the other pieces. I do coordinate the same slots across armor.

Or instead, you could just do some Sorrows Farming or Tombs farming and sell a green for about 50K and buy the runes...just a suggestion..

and i read this now, 4 days after i bought all that stuff myself

i got my money from running people around desert(very easy), farming in tombs and buying candy canes low and sell it for normal price...

Well you can get all 5 superior runes now for about 40K from the trader (total BS imo, but whatever

) so it shouldnt take long to get setup.

Second of all Anet nerfed the 20% enchant mod off the firery flame spitter. It is now useless for 55hp farming.

That is a completely inaccurate and uninformed post.

Fiery Flame Spitters NEVER HAVE come with a 20% enchant mod.
The reason for getting a FFS is for its BUILT IN mod:
"Halves Skill Recharge of spells (Chance: 10%)" (This was the mod that was "nerfed" from 15% to 10%)

Mine has been modded with a 20% enchant haft and a 10% furious hilt. LOOK:

The FFS never came with an enchanting mod...you always had to add one.

To those of you worried about your armor:

Spend a day or two just farming, don't go normal monking in your 55 monk armor (it's do-able, just VERY VERY PAINFUL).

What I did was just go to Augury Rock and farm Hydras using Spell Breaker and Zealot's Fire (Spell Breaker is handy, but SoJ is better...SoJ is also much harder to get, and for a starting 55 monk, 5k for a run to droks isn't bad, then you just get a skill capping group from Rankor to get Spell Breaker, you can also get Signet of Judgement there, Spiteful Spirit...lots of goodness).

Zealot's Fire should hit ~20s and above on hydras when you use an enchantment, just use ZF, and start casting. Make sure that you space out your casts if you want the whole mob to die at once... it takes a little practice, but it's doable (you don't even need Spell Breaker, I just had it at the time).

FFS (collector), -50hp item (cities of ascalon quest), major runes (every capitol city)... copy 55 monk build aaaaaand... done. go farm, and upgrade your shit as you get richer. gee whiz, what genius!

But it's not obvious eudas. That is why I started the thread originally - people commonly complained about 55 monks being impossible to make due to monitary restrictions.

Now though, Superior monk runes are what? Like 3-4K each? Shouldn't be too hard to make a 55... Just do the cantha quests and with the gold rewards (and selling drops) you'll have enough cash to make it.
